Back on Form

Well Jacob is definitely feeling better today - at long last. He has laughed and played and even has a cuddle with Grandma, who has been out of favour for ages.

My Father in Law has come to visit today. He lives in France so we only get to see him a couple of times a year. He brought Jacob an early Christmas present, which makes quite a bit of noise so hopefully the batteries will run out soon.

I've had my fifth postcard today, so I've posted a picture. The boat is from Oregon and came on Thursday. The Texas Longhorns came this morning. So I've got nothing outstanding, but a couple close tomorrow.

It's the first Sunday in Advent tomorrow. There will be a joint service at Christ Church for our three congregations, so I need to get there early or I won't get a seat.

A quiet day

Today has been quite a quiet day. I took Jacob to the toddler morning at the local leisure centre, which he seemed to enjoy. Then this afternoon the weather was dreadful so we played with his toys and watched a bit of CBeebies.

I've been to a quiz this evening that we organise every year for the local secondary schools. I co-ordinated all the marking.

Got another postcard today, from Oregon. Haven't had chance to photograph it today though, so I'll do it tomorrow. Have uploaded some of my recent scrapbook layout though, so I've attached them.

World Hello Day

I've decided to re-launch my blog! How exciting.......

I've just found a new website, it's called Swap-Bot. It's for those who like "snail mail" I signed up last week and have done my first swap. It was World Hello Day last Friday so I sent 5 postcards to my swap partners to wish them a good day.

I've been so impressed with the postal service. 2 of my cards have reached their destinations and I have received 3 postcards so far.
My next swap is a magazine swap, which will be posted next week.

There's only a few days left until December. I have signed up for Shimelle's journal your Christmas class this year. Check it out here http://www.shimelle.com/classes/389/journal-your-christmas/ . Hopefully I will be able to keep up with everything else going on.

I'm quite nervous about it but really excited. My amazing sister bought me the class for my birthday, so thank you Jo. There are lots of reasons for being involved and most of them come back to Jesus. This Christmas I really want to focus on Prayer and serving the community, I have the amazing gift of having four weeks off this year, so I intend to make the most of them. It will go so quickly that the journal is exactly what I need. I shall keep you posted about what happens!

I've been to Tesco today. My friend told me that the internet said I would be able to recycle tetrapak containers there. I can't. I asked the lady on Customer Service and she said she would find out and ring me. So I'm waiting for her call!

Jacob and I went to see mum and dad this afternoon. They have got someone coming to view their house tomorrow, which is a little unexpected in the current climate. So i'll be keeping my fingers crossed that it goes well.

Just finished typing up the minutes for the PCC (Parochial Church Council) I'm not quite sure how I ended up being the secretary, but hey ho. I think one of my 2009 resolutions will be to type them up quicker!
